I just keep moving my head till the last square inch gets plastered then I stop and see if the wash buckets aren't being used for other purposes.
I then just stand on my tires and scrub..
Sometimes 3 times per evening.

I do my absolute best to not use the wipers unless it’s raining or during winter. Looking around dead bugs is easier then smeared bugs.
when getting fuel I’ll wet both windshields with the squeegee before I get fuel then wash as normal. The presoak softens the bugs up.nredfor88, Another Canadian driver and Ffx95 Thank this. -
I keep a spray bottle in my cab. Use cheapest windshield wash you can get.
Walmart sells Clear Ammonia in the cleaning isle.
Dawn dish soap.
I add a good squirt of dawn to the bottle and my washer fluid,
I add a good splash of Ammonia to both as well. Nothing cleans glass like ammonia.
When you stop you can spray the windshield and let it sit for a couple minutes, then squeegee, works like magic.
Helps in the washer fluid also.ProfessionalNoticer and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
Simple green mix into washer solvent. I run around the Great Lakes. Port Clinton, Ohio many years have to put snow plows on to clear the may flys from the streets.

When you get fuel spray some of the foaming windshield cleaner. Let it soak for a few minutes and they come off really easy with the squeegee. And use a bit of dawn in your spray tank

You can add soap to your fluid reservoir but like pumpkin said it’ll eventually build up hard soapy crud in the lines and clog it up. If you don’t want to build up muck in the lines but still want to use soap you’re going to have to flush the lines with straight water once a week so it doesn’t build that crud up. Easier to just keep a bucket and a windshield squeegee and apply the soap yourself.

I use the dish soap. Once a month it hit the glass with 0000 steel wool to get rid of the stubborn ones. No it will not scratch the glass. You would be surprised at how much crud comes off the you didn't notice. Also clean the blades with rubbing alcohol.

You guys and your dawn soap ...LOL.. that's a joke the soap plugs up the lines & the pump in your windshield washers ....Soap is sticky
