I had looked into getting a permit in California many years ago when I lived there. Procedure was really restrictive with a lot of hoops, and is way worse now. And California does not recognize any other states permits either.

Before the recent court ruling it depended on the county and the sheriff. The county I lived in the sheriff was very pro gun so it wasn’t prohibitive.

Interested to see how things would change after the ruling, but of course California will likely pass a bunch of laws that’ll make it such a timely costly burden to get one, most won’t bother.

And yeah hardly any state recognizes Californias permit either.

It's odd how a person's constitutional rights can end at a state border. Only the 2nd amendment seems to be that way. What other constitutionally protected right does that?

    Yep

    and the news media too

the guy that saved 50 peoples lives at the mall the other day ..
All the media can talk about is how he ignored the signs saying “no weapons allowed “

not one peep about the killer ignoring the no weapons sign .

every mass shooting happens in a gun free zone . Weird how that works .

In my state bringing a gun into a property marked by the property owner as "no guns allowed" is not a violation/offense. The offense happens IF THE PROPERTY OWNER ASK YOU TO LEAVE AND YOU STAY. Then you commit the offense of criminal trespass. In my state it's a charge equivalent in severity to disorderly conduct or drinking in public. You get a ticket/fine and misdemeanor on your record.

I think the Communist states are starting to increase this offense to a felony. It pays to keep up with your state laws from the gun experts, not the truck experts.

Why would they even find out about it tho? Just keep it to yourself like you do with any other activity that you engage in that has social or legal consequences.

Everyone has to make their own choices. The main thing is, if anything ever happens where the cops get involved, #### and lawyer up. Most people who get convicted of crimes tell on themselves, period.

I travel with protection. ALWAYS. I am level 2 trained under Tom Givens of Rangemaster from Memphis,TN. I follow his method strictly. Police are Responders...they respond to calls of help. The average response for police arrival is 20 minutes at best. In a life or death scenario, the individual is at the mercey of their defensive capability. I dont care about "signs" or "rules" as I am a law abiding citizen. I shudder when I hear people say they leave their firearm in the car to go inside a store because they sign on the door does not allow firearms inside. Really? Do you pay attention to the mass shootings in this country?
Bottom line, its your life. As a truck driver, we are very vulnerable. We are operating vehicles that can trap us if surrounded and carjacked. Diesel trucks that make great getaway options with a 1,000 mile plus fuel range.
Durung Covid and the summer of riots, it was very tense in a lot of areas. I felt cool with my protection in the truck. Be smart. Get training. Be confident in yourself, and proud that you Value your life more than anyone else in the world.
