    I need the Cat brand fuel filter number, for a 4MG 3406B. I also want the water separator and that is washable.

    1R-0749 is probably the filter. You talking about the screen that you clean like this?

    1R0749 Fuel Filters and 256-8753 spin on Water Separators are what I have on all my Cats. The washable separators like they used to put on the KWs and Petes are just a fuel system air injector and a huge pia. Two of mine came in with them and they got swapped for spin-on separators at the first oil change when the trucks were new.
