Trucking FREEZE???

Too many truck drivers = True. This is a fact.

Severe lack of competent drivers willing to work = also True.

 

Pretty sad when all you need to do to stand out in an industry is to just not be a complete idiot or have bad attitude. Kind of a low bar if you ask me.

 

To my understanding this is every trade type job right now.

 

Some companies will ONLY hire natural born American citizens , with squeaky clean credit criminal and driving history, because that’s what the clients they are hauling for require .

Dunno if that means they pay more but it sure limits their pool of potential drivers .

 

I agree . And it’s very sad .

 

Makes it easy to do well if you ask me.

 

I'm not complaining about that aspect. It has certainly worked to my advantage. I routinely run 4000+ mile weeks, and 3200+ when I take a restart. The bad side of this that I still have to deal with the arseholes and #### heads. They are a huge part of why I drive at night. That and LA, Chicago, NY, Nashville, etc. Traffic.

 

I’d say it’s everywhere. People just don’t seem interested in excelling anymore, or doing more than absolutely needed. Not everyone, but many. Something happened to us along the way.

 

Well, I believe that would break employment regs, the natural born part. The rest is fine, obviously.
