The new Cascadia dash is made well it feels better quality than the new KW dash, but you have to lean for almost every control. If I have to reach for it keep it.

Oh I agree. After driving a KW with a Smart Wheel I hate driving the ones without one. Amazing how lazy you get when you don't have to move anything but your thumb to control the cruse, engine brake and lights.:biggrin_2559:

Yes, the ones I had in the past were horrible the whole interior rattled, the new dash on the Freightshaker is one piece so it doesn't rattle anymore, they made a lot of improvements, they are much quieter, more room between the seats, nicely designed sleeper,

These new trucks lacks so much character:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513:

Character is something you look for if you are compensating for something. Smart owners want a machine that will get it done as cheaply as possible to maximize profit.

Oh really, so anyone who takes pride in having an impressive looking truck is trying to compensate for something?

Smart owners sometimes want a machine that will provide them good service for a long, long time. Disposable plastic trucks are usually ready to be recycled after 5 years. It's possible to maximize profit while driving a truck with "character."

Maybe one day we will all have to drive base model plastic bubble trucks. Until then I'll continue to drive something that holds resale value, is simple to work on and isn't an eyesore.

    I admit it!

I'm compensating for my inability to look at ugly trucks and drive cheap plastic junk!
I'm also compensating for my inability to tolerate working on a truck that you can only see half of the engine in.

There are a lot of 20 year old W900s around that look and drive as good as a new one...Frieghtliners that age are rare and almost always held together by duct tape.

My 10 year old W900 with 1,6 million miles on it is still worth close to $30,000 and a 5 year old Freightliner or Volvo with 400,000 miles on it will be lucky to fetch $20,000.
There is a reason for that and it aint just the good looks!

    As I do every day...

As long as there are W900L's around that will be my first choice...

They have never tried to run the overhead on an FLC, and that is one of the easier slope noses to get to. It takes over an hour to get the aircleaner out of the way, where on a long nose you can almost have the whole thing done in that long.

If you bash the aero trucks then I would say, yes, you are compensating for something.

A truck is a truck and is purpose built to get a job done.

I do not doubt that long noses can get it done, but most of the owners I know do not bash other trucks. Bad karma and all. Both have their pluses and minuses. What amuses me is a company driver bashing plastic trucks who obviously does not know what they are talking about.

    :biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:

Go to ANY equipment auction or look at any site like Truckpaper and everything you said is true.

Oh and there's no way you've made ANY money with your W900, EVERYONE knows you can ONLY make money with a $10,000 aero truck with rusty wheels and single stack. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_25525:

(p.s. for anyone that believes that last part I've got a tip: if you stop hauling cheap freight, you can make money without a cheap truck)

RAG, Brickman and blackw900 Thank this.
