There maybe a lot of truth there. More people I meet with a Degree seems to prove it even more. They seem to teach not to use common sense. Not saying that the case, but an over all over view.

I had a friend that bought a truck from them. it had a problem with the head or head gasket. He kept going back for several months they kept saying they fixed it one day he opens the hood and shows me were they tried to seal it with liquid gasket and we were watching it bubble out as the engine got hot. He finally gave up after making payments and just wanted to give the truck back and walk away. The only way he could give it back to them is he also had to give them cash. He had to go to work for someone else.

MedicineMan I am not interested in arguing semantics or insults with you. But intelligent and smart are the same thing unless you were referring to common sense or street smarts or smart as in fashion sense. I really just want to detail my experience with Arrow Truck Sales, the theme of this thread.:biggrin_25525:

Well I have to say that it appears that Arrow has stepped up to the plate and I hope we are now finally "road ready to go" as promised in their sales pitch. Even it is only 30 days later than the actual date promised.

On Monday of this week, we drove to the Volvo dealer in Amarillo to have the groaning gears addressed. It turns out the synchronizer was bad which had caused the fourth and fifth gears to meld together-as much as my limited mechanical expertise could decipher of the explanation-unfortunately someone speaks engine to me and my brain shuts down. After some internal squabbling between Eaton and Arrow it was agreed that it would be covered.

The mechanics got busy and on Thursday evening we were told that it was fixed but it also needed a clutch. A very frustrated Arrow agreed to pay for the clutch though they sounded doubtful that they truly believed it was necessary. On Friday around noon we received our truck back with new synchronizer, clutch, and even an air leak fixed that should have been JCT's responsibility since they initially worked on that.

We had complained about the ABS and TRC lights that come on at weird moments, but Bruckner's Volvo said they weren't able to duplicate the issue, so it was not fixed. Of course, they lit up like Christmas when we drove about two blocks off their yard.

We are now out of the 30 day warranty with Arrow and any further nightmare we will have fixed by the additional warranty that we purchased. Whether Arrow fixed the items out of the goodness of their heart and their dedication to customer service and their reputation-I highly doubt it-or due to the diligence and persistence of OOIDA-my belief-our truck has been repaired and they paid for most of it.

The biggest issue would be the time that we lost not earning revenue while we sat in hotels and shop waiting rooms and the bills we incurred doing so.

So all that being said we are pleased with our 2007 Volvo 780 that we purchased from them, the space is incredible, and we would encourage anyone looking to purchase from them to do so.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, but since they supposedly had worked on our truck prior to delivery also-absolutely not done-maybe that's where their trouble lies. Your friend should have taken to dealer and had Arrow P.O. payment. :biggrin_25521:

Glad they got your truck fixed up for the most part & covered the tab. Keep this thread updated when you can. I know that when I find a truck of even remote interest, the dealer named gets googled & search for them on this forum directly.

Glad to hear Arrow stepped up (even if they had their arm twisted a bit by OOIDA) and paid for "most" of the needed repairs.

I wish you well with that 780, we had a saying with those in the fleet "Drive a mile, sit a while" they had some electrical issues. Let me just tell you one thing, and take this to heart. When your TAS goes out, and you glitch it and get it to stay on in 20 below frozen weather, set your alarm, and not the one on your panel. A separate windup alarm. Because you might wake up frozen.

Okay, darling I mentioned I wasn't mechanically inclined. What is a TAS? Please don't laugh, just answer. hahahaha Anyway, I love the truck inside and am trying to love the stuff under the hood. What kind of engine did your fleet carry? We bought one with the Cummings engine specifically because of our research on the electrical issues with the Volvo engine.:biggrin_25525:
