After spending my lifetime around trucks in all situations, I can tell you with certainty, a shorter wheelbase truck will 1/2 track before a long wheelbase.

And running to fast for the road when it’s dirt / mud here in the mountains along these coal fields, will get you a unpleasant education. I’ve seen it time & time again….

I'm from the north east and truck parking on a good day and before 3pm is rarely available. To Ohio or VA. Is a 10 hr drive and hard to find parking when your time is up now ... Imagine everyone else is doing the same

If they had mandated limiters when the trucks still had truck drivers in them it would have worked, but oddly enough they didn’t need to then. They filled the trucks with electronics so people in suits didn’t have to pay truck drivers and could put anything with a pulse in there. That created some problems. So now they’re going to fix it with more electronic gadgets? Maybe they should look at what caused the problem in the first place.

I only skimmed through the thread. If posted already, I apologize.
If this is about safety, level the playing field. Limit the whole population(4 wheelers) to the same speed, it's all for safety. How important would safety be when soccer moms, .yuppies, self appointed important people etc are restricted to this mess...
    Good luck, :occasion5:

Like that here, and pretty much everywhere my trucks run. Only takes a day of rain to turn gravel or native soil surfaces ugly. Especially when it’s steep.

I'm up a full mile per gallon since fuel went through the roof and I started slowing down from 70 to 62. I still make it to my destinations on time or a bit early and I don't have to worry about traffic to pass other trucks anymore either. My truck has a 550hp wide open E Model Cat and gears to push triple digits, but I'll probably keep on doing this even as fuel prices go down. There's really no reason not to for me.

That said I do not support a speed limiter mandate at all. Everyone has to and should have the right to make the decision that works best for their business.
