I’m still here doing my thing. I will say some of the money I see guys making would have been unimaginable at Superior. Makes me really second guess some of the career decisions I’ve made lol.

 

Been a long time since I've left but glad I made the decision. I heard there are now cameras on the driver there. Also heard most Terminal Managers are now women and most of the older TM's have either left, getting ready to retire, or was let go. Miss alot of people there and some of the runs, but you can't beat being home every day making 95K a year in LTL. Hope everyone has been doing well, seems like it.

 

Is that in Jersey or North Carolina.

 

I still stand by what I did. Gross $2K-2200K a week and home every day. No way I could do that there, plus alot less stress. Drive nights, so not alot of traffic. Still makes sense they moved their people up instead of the longstanding Superior guys/gals(they were bought out, happens all the time). I will admit, there were some Superior people in the office that needed to move on and was shown their way, from what I've seen. There were a few dispatchers, that were former drivers that had no business being in the office and looking out for 'their buddys' rather than doing thier job and dispatching people that wanted to leave. That got old, quick and am so glad I don't have to deal with that crap, or drivers that are still there. Like I said, though, there are a few runs I do miss doing there(especially running US167 through AK to MO, one of my fav roads, along with US 50 in MO to IL, if you run Jefferson City to Markham). But, what you said at making over $14K a month, sure that is great when inflation is high, but when things level out, you paycheck will go way down. There is good and bad with doing percentage as opposed to mileage. With percentage, it actually is pushing you to more towards being either a L/O or O/O, which it seems Heniff is wanting more L/O and O/O than company drivers with the money your seeing, or saying you make, right now. However, you are retiring, so you won't see that actual 'push'. Have a good retirement! Seems more and more people are getting out while they can, now. Who knows what the future holds?

 

Either you went to ABF or Yellow...UGH Yellow is not a great company. I was offered a job at ABF but decided against going Teamsters. To each their own, though.

 

With this upcoming paycheck I should be sitting right at 58k ytd, which puts me in the low 90s for the year if it keeps up. I feel like next year if I really wanted to I could top 100k, but that would require the stars to align. 80-90k for a few days a week sleeping in the truck seems about right. Im not bothered by rates going down, you can always switch back to mileage. They allow you to change once per quarter, so if things start to get cheap I'll go back to mileage.
I've been driving a loaner 2020 peterbilt, it has the outward facing dashcam and the system for lane departure and speed limit sign reading or whatever. I don't like the beeping it does from the adaptive cruise but otherwise its a pretty decent ride. The interior is way more comfortable than the Macks especially in this 100+ degree heat.

 

yeah, my current company has the 'lane departure warning' and outward facing cameras as well. Those 'beeps' are different there than here. Are they annoying, YES! haha However, we have a button to push, like I had there, you can push to turn it off in construction zones. Switching pay? NOPE, not into doing that even, every quarter, if things get good/bad. I'm glad people have been happy staying there. That's a good thing! The bad thing is, now all of you are retiring/leaving and now comes the newbies. I just hope there are very good trainers left and it doesn't become another 'careless' training company. I know of one guy that just couldn't last worth a crap and even the trainers said NO! He was let go after 3 months due to carelessness! And now, comes the female TM's. They seem to not care as much about the guys that are drivers. One thing I've been seeing more and more of on Crapbook! Seems Heniff is pushing more of the female TM's and drivers than anyone else in the company. Makes one think.
