Yup. I keep getting this mental picture of running Dunsmuir Canyon south out of the Shasta scales, just floating along nice and easy and smooth and the OP wants to pass me. On a curve.InTooDeep, LtlAnonymous, God prefers Diesels and 4 others Thank this.

In a curve the trailer will be closer to the inside of the turn than the truck. I put the tractor closer to the outside of the curve for this reason. If I was really new, I would settle in and drive slower a couple of trucks lengths behind another truck and not worry about passing until you are more comfortable or only pass when you are are at least 5 mph faster than another truck.Another Canadian driver, Boondock and okiedokie Thank this.

He’s BRAKING in a curve. When the load shifts, the tire grip will not be enough to prevent the roll.
Next thread will be: Rolled a truck and got fired. Will anyone hire me? Attention Chinatown!InTooDeep, okiedokie, Another Canadian driver and 5 others Thank this. -
You can’t slow down before a curve if you’re not scanning ahead. IMHO this is becoming a lost art from my observations.

2 Months Driving and wrangling a 70' Combo is just "gettin' yer feet wet".
You're only in so much hurry as GRAVITY allows.
A Bit Slower, Saves LIVES, Usually.
LOAD WEIGHT determines how to take Turns and Curves.
Not talking about Tankers, just 53' Spring or Air Ride Dry Vans and a few Reefers and Skateboards.
CHEERS!!LtlAnonymous, Another Canadian driver and Boondock Thank this.
