Yep It’s Unbelievable but no BS.
There is Mexicans and Indian people here right now buying coffee!
To some of this people here is very natural to drinking coffee with such temperature.
I have Cuban friends and part of my Hispanic family that drinking coffee with that kind of temperature is like drinking water!
Now I went to a restaurant two months ago called Spicy India and they were drinking coffee in hot weather of 114
Everything on the menu was super spicy… I tried eating something and I just couldn’t.
Not my kind of culture. But this people they grew up with this being there way of life.
Interesting how we are different from one to another.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -
My food tastes don't change that much due to temperature. I may not eat much mid day if I am out in it, but that's about it. Sitting in the desert in body armor with ballistic plates kinda alters your idea of what tolerable means.MidWest_MacDaddy, Friend, BigR and 2 others Thank this.

What branch of the military did you serve?

I hauled cement powder into Vegas, then went north to Overton NV. to pick up Silica Sand. Later I moved to Vegas and delivered 2 loads a day from Overton to Vegas, weekends off. Best job ever, except the ‘09 economy slowed everything down and I got laid off. Pneumatic work is great.MidWest_MacDaddy and Silverdriver Thank this.

Hot coffee cools you off, cold drinks make your body try to warm you….MidWest_MacDaddy and Silverdriver Thank this.

I’ve heard that before, but it doesn’t work for me.Silverdriver Thanks this.

I was regular Army from 1997 to 1999, as a Fire Support Specialist. Got RIF'd out, then OKARNG Aviation from Aug 2001 to Aug 2011. Spent most of that 10 years (7 yrs, 9 months, 18days) on active duty.cdavis188, Friend, M22 rockcrusher and 2 others Thank this.

Thanks for the info.
I was always curious about that type of truck driving job.
Yep 09 was very hard on many people. At such time I was living in Orlando, FL and remember seeing families on US 50 West selling everything they could in order to survive.
Well folks in about 7 days I go home after spending 6 weeks out here. Like I posted on the Abilene forum… I will be celebrating my 40th wedding anniversary. I’m looking forward to this.
You all stay safe!
