I was able to get dropped from my delivery in November (they updated it today), salesman had the spot sold within an hour. Working on getting order in tomorrow for a 389X.
New truck 1 year out . Peterbilt discontinuing 389.

Better get ahold of your salesman, you will have up too 2 or 3 months I think to get the specs finalized. Either way if haven’t called yet you better do it today, 1389 spots will be gone fast if they’re not already.

Talked to one salesman today
He did t have numbers yet as they or he was just notified yesterday
His guess was that a day cab spec’d for an ARI would be around $205,000 plus FET so $230k plus the sleeper is around $130,000-$150,000
Plus FET but that was just a guess
Said the trucks are going up again in price and who knows where they will be by next summer??
My trailer is an 18 and a guy I met last week had basically the same set up and just paid $118,000
Thats 1/2 a million

If you have seen and interviewed as many drivers as I have over the years you would never even attempt to make this statement but to say it as a promise makes it that much more unrealistic. Even with an experienced manual driver in an auto I clearly see a difference in thier abilities.gravelhauler, FredZeppelin77, KrumpledTed and 1 other person Thank this.

The ballpark figure we came to today was around $265k OTD including some additional rig up. But that is based on current pricing and I was also warned there is another 7-8% price increase coming likely before end of November.
That’s a full $100k more than I paid for my 2019 389 in August of 2019.Rubber duck kw and GYPSY65 Thank this. -

I guess I'll be sticking with my 2020 389. No way in hell would I pay $100k more. That's absolutely nuts.

I've started a thread on my search for a reefer trailer and it's absolutely ridiculous. You can tell most dealers are price gouging just because they can, thanks to the limited supply. I keep telling myself the buyers of +$115K trailers have to be drying up. Further, I can't imagine anyone getting financing for that amount in this market.
I did find a Utility O/O speced w/ TK S600 today which I could take delivery for in October for $115K. I was interested until they said they would only give me $60K for my 2019 GD w/ TK S600. Frick them.
And don't be fooled by all these price increases, these manufacturers input costs have decreased significantly. Compared to last year aluminum is down 21%, steel 30% and rubber 18%. -
My buddy owns a decent sized fabrication shop and builds a lot of landscaper dump bodies for the local Ford dealership .
His cost for steel purchase is not much less than his cost for aluminum still today.
So much more is the cost of steel and extra labor needed to handle it and paint it the retail price is lower for the aluminum dump bed.Oxbow Thanks this. -

When I talked to my rep about ordering a new trailer awhile back he said my current one is worth more than I paid for it
If I had to make a guess and with the numbers all over the place I could very well be way low or way high but I’d say somewhere between $250-300,000 for the set up
Again that’s a very off the wall guess
As I mentioned my trailer new is $120,000 and my same truck spec’d is around $330,000
So that’s $450,000 for a new set up
