So we need to have the permit for 14 days before taking the test. I got the permit in May and i have the test next week, but i lost the permit so i had to get a replacement yesterday, will that be a problem next week when i go take the test?

Call the local dmv where you are taking the test and ask. Im not trying to be a jerk or smart alleic. However, each state has their own laws for this kind of thing and without knowing your location no one could know.

If you didn’t have to retake the tests, no it won’t be a problem, it is just a replacement permit

I think this is more a State issue, not a Fed regulation issue. What state issued the permit/taking the CDL test?

What I would do is wait to see if your replacement permit arrives before the day of your Skills Test. Otherwise, if it didn't arrive on the day before the test, you need to move the day of your test. Good luck!

From Texas DMV…can vary by state.
- A CLP is valid for 180 days or when your Texas driver license expires, whichever is earliest
- A CLP can be renewed one time, up to 30 days prior to expiration, without needing to retake the knowledge exams
