Hangin my head pretty low here guys, 3 years into running my own truck and I finally got a monetary fine. Basically I hit the Blackwell Oklahoma scales SB side and got pulled in for level 1. Long story short, got violation for 396.3A1 on small air leak at one of my tanks. It came with a “civil penalty”. Of course the inspector had no idea the amount, called number on the citation and not even they can give me the amount. They said I just have to wait a month for the fine to come in the mail.
I’m not here making excuses, or crying just asking if anyone has had a similar deal and what it cost them. My anxiety is gunna kill me! Thanks in advance

I'm guessing the fine or penalty will be in the $200 or less range. I got a similar violation in Maryland and the fine was $150. I am guessing OK wouldn't not fine you more than Maryland.Rideandrepair, Another Canadian driver, Boondock and 2 others Thank this.

“Audible air leak at 1 brake chamber”Rideandrepair, Another Canadian driver and Boondock Thank this. -
I try and avoid paying tolls, especially the ones that are easy to go around. When coming south out of Wichita jump off on 47th Street ( last exit before toll ) go west to the first light ( US 81 ) and run that south into Oklahoma. You'll come out just south of that coop. Heading north you'll miss the Kansas coop taking that route as well ... Just saying....

The violations on the DOT inspection report don't necessarily have to carry financial fines. I'd say they usually don't... Was there a separate ticket issued?
Rideandrepair, tscottme and Bigtruckdrivah Thank this. -
OK The closest I could find in my little collection of OK tickets is 307.400, unsafe or defective brake system - the fine we paid was $195, that was three years ago ... 9.17.2019Keepforgettingmypassword, Jacoooooooo, Bean Jr. and 3 others Thank this.
