You said this so well, LT. I hear so many tell me that I'm not going to be rich doing this type of work. Right now, I make $0.00. All the years I worked in offices, I never made more than $27,000/year and I was so stressed out constantly. Even in my own cubicle, there was constantly phones ringing, people talking, somebody starting crap with someone else and trying to pull everybody else into it. I like me, and I like being alone with me. I feel like I lost touch with myself.

I like to see the end result of what I have accomplished. I want to see a more simplified life. The hubby doesn't want to go along because he won't have the comforts of home. Everybody's definition of comfort is different. I can get by with less, maybe because growing up we didn't have much and we were thankful for what we got. I feel a need to get back to those roots. I don't need a TV and 3 big meals a day. Sometimes less is more.

I will say it again to any potential person thinking of becoming a truck driver; What ever you think truck driving is, it isn't.

That means don't believe what you see in the movies.Truck life isn't like Smokey and the Bandit. It's more like White Line Fever.

I grew up in the industry so I know what it's like and I still have the passion to drive. I say I fell off the turnip truck. :biggrin_25523:

Trucking is what it is, life is what it is, no one can walk in another mans shoes, they have to walk in their own shoes and fulfil what they have in their heart. I hear alott of people say don't do this or don't do that, and there is nothing wrong with listining to someone else that has walked that mile with an open mind & respecting what they are trying to say but, everyone has to fulfil there own desires. Life is what it is, but is always what YOU make out of it. It means a hellava alott to me knowing that alott of GOOD, RESPECTFUL, HONEST, & DESCENT MEN & WOMEN have built the trucking industry into one of the GREATEST INDUSTRIES in this comman age and that I can keep that TORCH burning...
