Probably none. All the guys hauling rail cans still need to work and where do you think they will go?

If the trains aren't running, there aren't enough trucks to handle the increased freight volume.

That’s why I figure they will drag every storage van out of the weeds and hit the load boards. I may be wrong, but I figure not much will change. Chemicals maybe, and aggregates maybe coal.

It still won't make a difference. Trains aren't just loaded with box cars full of freight needing vans. They also carry liquids, bundles of lumber on open flat cars, automobiles, van trailers already loaded and containers of all sizes loaded as well. There will be a demand for trucks like never before. It'll make the Covid-1984 rush pale in comparison. I doubt anything will happen though. My bet is Congress will force the workers to stop striking and make them return to their posts.

I hope you’re right. I hope it is a boom, but it’s piss poor timing, and I’m positive congress will squash it. I guess we will wait and see.

I agree. They've been dealing with thier jobs for years and now, when Americans are struggling they decide to strike? It's total BS.

It’s not BS. Their working conditions have deteriorated to the point that they are honestly worse than ours now. And they’ve only had pay cuts on top of it.

Nobody is holding a gun to their heads. They're free to leave anytime they wish. Rail employees make more money than most CDL drivers. They're also paid great benefits and for every single minute they work. A large majority of commercial drivers can't say the same.

They're typically union parasites that will never be happy no matter what they're offered. The timing of this little strike of theirs is dumping sale into the average American's wounds right now. I can't wait until the Feds push them back into their holes.
