It’s not just about pay either. They’re dealing with CEO’s who are trying to convince the government to let them run single person crews. They’re dealing with CEO’s who want longer train lengths when some of the trains now are so long they don’t have good radio communication from the cab to the rear. You have BNSF with their stupid attendance policy and then the CEO is testifying to congress and crying her sob story about a worker shortage and the need for single person crews. It’s all stuff that’s been building up for years. Yes they chose their career, but I’d venture to say that most go into railroading thinking that it is indeed a career position so I don’t really blame them for fighting for the livelihood they want.
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

After 30 years of sucking on the company tit the worker can’t eventually make their own path as a man. Pathetic. Some actually believe that they own the company. Do as your told, or get out! Don’t like it don’t work for the company. If you have to have a company coddle you from cradle to grave so you feel comfortable in that home you chose to buy… I lived and worked in multiple states and even had my family overseas. I never expected a company to take care of me or that I dictate policy. It’s only a job. Nothing more. Otherwise it would be socialism. Take it or leave it. I am my own man. I negotiate the terms, not collective bargaining.

The next time increasing truck size and weights comes up then we better tell OOIDA to step out, we all have to make our own path. Same with speed limiters. We can all fight our own fight, OOIDA better stay out of it.

Did great today in this pos stock market. Went short and played options betting the market drops. A lot of institutions are moving their money into bonds. Major real estate is moving into bonds also. Stay sharp!
