Hello all. So I just recently got my CDL A license. Im from Minnesota. I got 2 speeding ticket at 15 mph and a 16 mph back in 2018 and the other one in 2020. I now think differently about driving and am a change man. Only reason I got my license was to become a owner operator otherwise I would never get my cdl a. I think I applied everywhere already with no success. After looking at my mvr they just told me to come back when I have more experience. I think only Schneider will hire me but they have no job openings at the moment. My plan now is to hopefully land a job as a company driver for a year and then get my own tractor and trailer or save up until next spring to buy a 1ton dually and 4 car hauler or flat bed, get my authority and do hotshot until I get enough experience/ business credit to move on and buy a tractor and trailer. So any company out there that hires guys like me or am I stuck to my hotshot plans.
Which Company hire with 2 speeding ticket in mn.

Insurance Insurance Insurance that's what its all about bottom line is the company you work for has to insure their trucks and it effects their premiums, the other issue while the company won't tell you directly is safety, I assume you were caught driving at over 10 mph over the posted speeds, at 15 & 16 if they were minor say only 6 mph although sometimes an officer won't even pull you up as by the time they decide to chase you for that speed your long gone, in some states they have zero tolerance though and its up to the individual discretion of the officer with the hair dryer, anyway bottom line was you have to many tickets in a relatively short space of time if they were more than 5 years old with no more recent tickets you'd be fine, so you may just have to wait another 3 years without any more tickets and try again. Most if not all major companies will have on there application form speeding tickets and other citations in the last 5 years, so that is your buffer zone there stay free and clear for the next few years and you'll be ok.
I'd try the harvest trail their always looking for seasonal workers they'll even feed you and provide accommodation if you can handle the grain harvest work, and you will also gain some good references which is also very important. Try their website USCHI,.com (US Custom Harvestors Inc) you can also list your details and employers will contact you.Last edited: Sep 14, 2022

thank you. yeah i kinda knew what the outcome was. i just want to try one more time before i decide 100% to just become a hot shot and start my authority since that is the main reason why i got the cdl a in the first place anyways.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

If the regular companies can't afford to insure you with those tickets, what makes you think you will be able to afford the insurance with those tickets as a new entrant?bryan21384 and Another Canadian driver Thank this.
