I did apply anyway. Not sure if I should disclose my felony from 13 years ago or not. Sentence was completed 8/2013. I was looking into Stevens Transport but am seeing that they're doing "random" hair follicle testing. I feel like with my previous career I just may pop a flag to get one, lol.
-
Here's the complete rundown, I have nothing to hide and only advice and help to gain:
3/16/2009 - F3 - Criminal Mischief - Closed 8/2013
10/7/2010 - M2 - Simple Assault - Closed 8/2013
1/1/2014 - M2 - DUI - Closed 4/2015
5/19/2014 - M2 - Simple Assault - Closed 3/2018
6/6/2014 - M2 - Criminal Threatening - Closed 3/2018
I was young, reckless and didn't care about anything. Left the state to start fresh in 2018. Been good ever since then. -
Don't disclose anything that isn't asked for.
tscottme and slim shady Thank this. -
as he said.
read the questions carefully.
some ask if you ever had a certain record. some put a time limit. like in the last 5 years have you ever... -
Most companies want 10 years on a DUI. As for the assault? I’d say about 50% of trucking companies could care less about that. As long as you’re not like a hot tempered maniac that they gotta worry about coming into the yard and starting fights with other drivers and going into the office and threatening people. Outside of that? They pretty much could care less. I’ve sat in on domestic violence classes and let me tell you, like 80% of the dudes in there were not bad. They just got caught up in a situation usually with a psycho woman they were involved with. And next thing they knew they were in jail being charged with some domestic crap. Most good recruiters know this. You wouldn’t believe the stories I heard.
As for prime? They are ridiculously picky. I honestly wouldn’t waste your time and would look somewhere else. I don’t mean they’re picky in a good way as in they pick great drivers, they’re just picky with your past. Personally I do not believe they do a great job recruiting drivers like they think they do. Go somewhere else for a year or two and then you can work anywhere.buddha_ Thanks this. -

She specifically asked about my background, unfortunately.

She had asked verbally, it sucks. I didn't want to be like, "Sure, how long ago?" lol
