What about Western Express?

--Lual -
I’d rather not drive than drive for them… I heard they were absolutely TERRIBLE lol
tscottme Thanks this. -
I have a co-worker who drove previously for Western Express.
He says his experience with them was actually ok.
Now--he and I are both doing hazmat tanker duty, hauling fuel.
The truth is...with less than 10 years back on that DUI--your choices for starter carriers will be few.
Also: Western Express was built from ground up, for people just like you--who have a past, but are now trying to go clean.
Another truth: starting out in trucking certainly won't be easy--no matter what carrier takes you.
Suggestion: go with Western Express (assuming they will in fact take you). Sign up first for their dry van duty. Stay there AT LEAST A YEAR (longer is even better).
After a year or so--switch over to their flatbed group, & drive another year with them.
Past that, the trucking world will then pretty much be your oyster--assuming you can then pass that hair follicle test.

UPDATE: I was denied for my background.

It’s honestly looking like I may have to. I just am terrified because I quit my main source of income to do this. I still have another job but my big earner ends next Thursday.
I just feel like if I can’t make what I made there, this was all a horrible idea. I already don’t make much to begin with and live paycheck to paycheck lol. -
On the other hand...it may just turn out that Western Express was/is the best thing to happen to you...in a long time.
Trying something totally new, & also stepping outside your "comfort zone"...usually takes a good bit of courage.
Many times...when I started out driving with Schneider...I reminded myself of the motto/slogan used by the British SAS: "He who dares, wins."
Try applying to Western Express.
If they also turn you down...come back here, & ask for other recommendations.
They may well take you on...when most others won't.
But...like Chinatown said earlier...don't give more info past what was asked. Keep your answers brief, but accurate.

I just went to fill an app out, they don’t have CDL training unfortunately. I only have a permit with tanker, doubles/triples.
-
Trying to find more information on Steven’s Transport but not finding much other than horror stories lol.
-
V3 Transportation hires drivers with only a CDL-A Permit. I've seen the ads this week about that. Not showing on the website though. I'll see if I can find something on the CDL-A Permit drivers
