The one thing you need to remember is YOU are paying for all that stuff at the terminals !!

The nicer the building and office space the more freight you have to move to pay the bill

At least that is what I have found out !

I cant say it enough THEY AINT KISSING YOU CAUSE THEY LOVE THEY ARE KISSING YOU CAUSE THEY ARE FIXING TO SCREW YOU !!!

They don't charge your dispatcher to heat his office but if you heat your truck by running the engine they charge you one way or another .

Just something to think about ...

Marmonman, you make good sense! What I began to think about after I read your post is this: ...Hours of Service and Fatigued Driving are HUGE issues facing truckers today. I'm a wannabe so I don't have actual driving experience and haven't "lived the life", but, the turnip truck I fell off of is waaaaaay on down the road. Now, to cut to the chase....How in the name of all that is reasonable does it make sense to require a driver to sleep in extreme cold or extreme heat and then bellyache about the driver's HOS and Fatigued Driving? No, I'm not a driver, but, from time to time in my life I've tossed and turned plenty trying to get comfortable enough to actually sleep when I've been extremely cold or extremely hot. I can imagine that drivers that are subjected to the idling laws/company idling rules end up being more than just fatigued, they end up aggravated as hell and take off down the road in this state of mind.

If your a company driver and being treated like that, time to find a good job, cause not all companies are like that. I stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I don't abuse it and idle just because I can, I shut it down if it's not necessary and when I'm away from the truck. There are always trucks that idle when temperature is not a concern.
