Well thanks for the advice Mark I went ahead and bought myself the TND 500. So far I love it but I will take my first official trip with it Sunday night so I shall see how it routes for a delivery and pick up in Birmingham.
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Any problems,,, we are here to help.
Thanks,

Will do Mark thank you. So from what I have read I need to check for updates weekly? I will keep a closer eye on this thread from now on.

If this has been asked already, I apologize for the repost. Digging threw 118 pages is a bit tiring at this hour, though I did make it to page 72 before joining to ask a question
Does this unit offer Canadian maps at all? Is it an available upgrade? If not, is it known if it will be offered in the near future?
Thanks in advance! -
Updating weekly would not hurt, it will keep you up todate on POI's, Global POI ratings, and construction updates.
Construction updates will be shown on the map page, on the right hand side in the Turn-by-Turn list.
Thanks,
Mark -
Mapping for the USA and Canada are preloaded in the mapping data.
Thanks,

Thank you! -
Does this GPS just show you where the no-truck routes are and low bridges or does it actually avoid them?

I just bought a new TND 500 yesterday at a Pilot...took it home, charged it up, turned it on....screen starts out with a picture of a big truck then a screen pops up that says Insert SD Card in a big yellow arrow...sd card was already in it when i took it out of the box, but I went ahead and took the card out and reinserted it...nothing...have tried everything I can think of but can not get past this screen. I hooked the unit to the pc thinking maybe it just needed to be updated or something, but I seem to be missing the file called "IntelliRoute TND Maps" that the instructions say to click on...I searched through the few that were there, but nothing would happen. Do I need to return this unit and get a replacement? I am about sick to my stomach over this after paying out that much money...Pilot says they have a 30 day exchange policy for an exact item but no refund. Problem is, I'm 2 hours away from a Pilot...it gets expensive driving there just to try and get a working unit and they only had 2 yesterday and I bought one....any help
