Are there any ways to prevent drivers selling or stealing fuel off of fuel card. I have known of some company drivers doing this, selling fuel for a quick buck as little as $1.00 a gallon.

My fuel card can not be used at the same place on the same 24 hour period, nor can it be used for more than X amount of gal. on any 24 hour period. So you use it only for your own truck that way

thats a bad thing that makes it harder for all good drivers, i would say maybe a fuel bonus would help that problem

The way to prevent it is to report it when you see it happening. But then you may not want to prevent that bad huh?

not that i am aware of, it is a topic i have considered as well. basically it comes down to hiring a person of integrity.

just compute their mpg on spreadsheet and if it goes below what you know to be std. fuel econ. for that tractor, start looking into it. just my .o2...

Live video recording on the fuel isles that are internet accessible. Would suck for the honest driver's (mama could see where you really are!)

    Shoot the thief !!

Short of that I don't think you can stop scumbags from stealing if they really want to !

If they worked half as hard at their jobs as they do trying to beat the system they would be some dang good employee's !

Pay 'em enough that they aren't desperate enough to sell fuel.

That'll only work on folks who are kinda on the fence, so to speak. Some folks will still
take everything they can lay their hands on, and when caught, the reason for their dismissal oughta be on their record.
Unfortunately, that could lead down a slippery path. If someone parks at a truckstop where fuel is being stolen without their knowledge, a pissy supervisor can use it against him anyway.

I agree 99%.... I don't agree with actually shooting the thief... wanting to, and entertaining the idea I can see... just not actually shooting them...

The rest is dead on... LOL...
