There is something not quiet right there Freighliinerbob.....The 6x2 tag we ran for years would run rings around the 6x4's & 6x2 mid lifts in both light & heavy load situations. I only ever saw it get stuck once and that was due to poor driving..........................
6x2 information?

You see something similar in the US all the time. A 6x4 in a rut or un level situation and instead of locking the inter axle diff, the driver will just spin, rolling forward or backward until it gets enough traction. Idiots. -
6x2 are popular here. some 6x2 trucks have steer pushers.
when tag axel valve fails (yep sometimes it happens) there are many problems with traction in snow
6x2 require LSV ore EBS becouse when you rise tag axel w/o lsv drive axel gets less brake pressure it needs and front axel brakes may be overladen -
an old thread but still relevant,
was wondering if anyone can comment on traction on 8 to 16% gradients, CVM descending is 100,000Lb, ascending CVM 34,000Lb. Surface is asphalt but can be wet. Road is narrow and windy. Done currently with 6x4 set up. Reckon a 6x2 can cope on the decents?
Where I would like to go
6x2, locker on the drive with load sharing, dead axel would be a lift. Both axels be tandems. I have no preference to tag or pusher drive.
We have a second ascending route with 19.5% max gradient, again asphalt, we can only do this in the dry. I assume a 6x2 would be capable of this also, however wondered if a pusher over a tag with load sharing make any difference in high slip circumstances if its a little greasy.
Tri axel trailer empty would also have for and aft lift axels to reduce drag.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
