OPEC apparently just cut 2 million barrels a day of production. Hope this means those rigs will be rolling out soon. Haven't seen much of the big iron moving around in the last few years.

Yes it was common place at one time. You only need to lock the front end brakes on ice once to figure out why. Newer trucks (about 93 and up) have an automatic proportioning valve that senses when you are bobtailing and restrict the front brakes. You should find it on the rad mount crossmember on your FLDcke, Brettj3876, PoleCrusher and 6 others Thank this.

I've been busy with fixing up my house and work.
My wife and I decided to tackle a major rehab job primarily ourselves...it's been a chore to say the least.Tug Toy, cke, PoleCrusher and 11 others Thank this. -
I'm a fleet manager at a small Petroleum distributor in western PA....between OPEC announcing the production cutbacks and the hurricane we've been taking a beating at the terminals this past week.
We had to raise our prices on delivered fuels, especially the home heating fuel, kero and off road diesel this week almost 50 cents per gallon.AModelCat, cke, PoleCrusher and 12 others Thank this. -
All older trucks had them. Most guys took the front brakes off if the truck had them. I think 1985 or 86? Was first year steer brakes were required. Dont know the exact year. But I'm old enough to have worked on some. The limit valve was pretty normal in its day.cke, PoleCrusher, singlescrewshaker and 4 others Thank this.

Moving some equipment this week and last week that had set for a few months. Thinking I got bit by a critter that called the machine or truck home.
My nurse sister had me go get it looked at, they ended up giving me a booster shot of antibiotics, and a prescription.
It got hard feeling, like a smooth skipping stone was under the skin, and hurt constantly.
Wet washcloth covered with a heating pad was also advised to help soften it, as well as hopefully pull the infection out. As bad as it hurt I final got infection squeezed out last night.
Sis said if the infection spread to my elbow joint, it could cause serious problems, and my arm would never be the same.
Y’all keep your eyes out for the creepy crawlers…… may even be some ringing your doorbell looking for candy soon….

Think I know where it is now that you mention the location. Truck is normally at the house, but I parked it at the yard with my trailer in preparation for the storm but have not retrieved it yet..
Ol Buck was a '93. Before I got the stepdeck, I pulled an (eoh) electric over hydraulic braked gooseneck for a few years. The trucks brakes seemed weak, & I didn't need the air lines dangling off the back of the cab. Pulled them, & put brass pipe plugs in their place so junk wouldn't get in the open holes. Pressed the red trailer supply valve on the dash one day for no real reason & the combination stopped way better!!
Basically dumb luck, but I'm assuming that is how they sense when bobtail with the automatic front brake limiter.? Red valve out..cke, Brettj3876, beastr123 and 5 others Thank this.
