Oh yeah you definitely got you some work ahead of you. You gotta classic vehicle there brother. I don't even know what I'm going to do when I get home. Once I got back from Colorado yesterday, I've just been running around Missouri. I'll probably get my load to Memphis tomorrow. I've got to swap loads with a driver in Joplin first.

@bryan21384 sounds like they still got plenty of freight over there too. Problem we're having over here isn't availability, it's rates. There's plenty of freight, if you don't mind losing money hauling it. I #### you not, there was a 44,000 lb coil going from Coon Rapids, MN to Amarillo for $1.41 a mile last week. It was on the Dat board. Craziness I tell ya lol. Anyways, if I can remember, I'll try to upload a pic of the Jeep with its new shoes. After that'll be a paint job. It's kind of an almost sky blue now, buts faded really bad. I'm thinking about charcoal gray, or maybe a little lighter gray with the black wheels. I don't know yet lol

@Farmboi85 Would you say for a night driver this probably ain't the company to work for? I was reading some of your earlier posts about Woodfield. Seems like a good, small company near my area(Sheridan), but I mostly run nights and the brokered frieght is probably all day live loads/unloads?

@kenneth0077 . I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Sprained my ankle and bruised my tailbone when I went home week before last. I'm back out now. Its been my experience that I could drive whenever I wanted to as long as I made appointments. I drive at night sometimes if I'm running recaps. They leave me alone. Never really been fussed at about anything, or had my driving criticized since I've been here. That's my story. I'm sure there's somebody out there that had an opposite experience (there always is). I stay within reason with my requests tho

So, as mentioned in my reply earlier, I took some home time about a week and half ago. Was only planning on taking 3 days, but the 2nd day I missed a step coming off the porch, and rolled my ankle pretty bad and bruised my tailbone. Ended up taking 7 days off. Been back out for a little while. I'm still hobbling a little bit, but I'm getting better day by day. Things just don't heal as fast at 40, as they did at 25 lol. Anyways...left the house, and loaded lumber in Waldo, AR and took it up by Green Bay. Seems like it's normally cooler up there this time of year. Deadhead from there to Joliet, IL and picked up one of the infamous elevator loads I've heard so much about. The line to get loaded was the 2nd worst thing about the load. Took it down Baton Rouge for strict 6am appointment that apparently just pertained to me, as the staff didn't arrive til 8:30...that was the worst thing about the load. Got unloaded and left there headed for Weyerhaeuser in Dodson, LA to wait another 4.5 hours to get loaded, due to being the 11th truck in line. Finally got loaded, and made my way to the yard in Camden,AR for my 10. This load went to Story City, IA. Got it unloaded, and deadheaded back down to Des Moines to pick up a shorter run back down to Roger's, AR. Dropped that one and picked up more lumber in Glenwood, AR and currently 34-ing at Petro in Glendale, KY. On a side note...the swapped us from PFJ, and we are now fueling at Loves. Gotta say...if I'm gonna forced to fuel at 1 chain, I prefer Loves

This is what my ankle looked like 2 days after it happened

Had a load hiccup today. Delivered the lumber yesterday in Hebron, OH, with the intent of laying over til this morning. Was supposed to pick up 2 20,000 lbs coils up by Akron headed back down to Dallas. Get 10 miles from the shipper, and the broker calls to tell me the load ain't ready yet. She asked me to make an appearance at the shipper, so I did. This was at 0800 this morning, and the guy at check in informs me that it'll be 1600 (if at all today) before the load is ready. Called my dispatcher, and within 15 minutes, had another load. Deadheaded over to Elwood City, PA and picked up what looks like just huge aluminum blocks (they're wrapped). 8,500 lbs a piece, and u got 8 of em....yea, it's heavy. Anyways, made it to that big rest area in Indiana on 70, and that's where I'm chilling for the night. Gotta Thursday delivery in Duncan, OK. Nice 1200 mile run!

5,500 lbs...my bad. I was apparently half out it last night. Load weighs 45,000

Well, I got my blocks delivered. What is the deal with freight right now? It's not so the availability, as it is the rates. Complete ridiculousness...that might not be a real word lol, but it is now. Dispatcher ended up deadheading me all the way from Duncan, OK to Fordyce, AR (412 miles). Didn't have the hours to make it all way, so I'm posted up at our yard in Hooks, TX. Pick up in Fordyce tm, and then it's up to Redwood Falls, MN. I've managed to avoid the snow so far, but it looks my luck might just run out
bryan21384 Thanks this.
