Now that you have been in North America long enough to know what problems and issues our trucking industry faces.....what does our industry have in common with the trucking industry in Germany (as far as problems and issues go)? And, have you found it easy to adapt to the rules and regulations here?

Hi Oldnewbiegonnabe!!!
The Trucking Industry in Germany ( Europe ) is a little bit different to the North American, like the Trucks. German tractor trailer combinations are
shorter the max. length is 60 Ft.,max. hight is 13Ft. and max. width is 8Ft.
for all what is over this restictions, you need a special permit. The gross weight is 88000 pounds. Longhaul Trucks do almost ever have just two axles,
and the trls. are triples. And all Trucks are Cabover's,because of the length
restriction. The payment as a company driver is a monthly fixed wages ( pay-
ment per mile/kilometer is in Germany not allowed ). The wages before tax
is at the moment around 1600 Euro ( aprox. 2180 USD )
The problems for the german trucking industry are almost the same like the problems for the North American trucking industry, the only difference is, in Germany it was started a couple years earlyer. But the bigest problem for german Companys are the cheap revalry from eastern europe.KCJ, JustSonny and kickin chicken Thank this. -
And it was not hard to adapt to the rules and rgulations, because they are
similar to the german rules and regulations.
