The main objective of shippers/brokers is the move the load as cheaply as possible most all the time.
That's where I come up with that percentage.
Under $2/mile loads with $6/gal diesel.

All 5 of my oversized customers want the load moves as quickly and safely as possible. Price has never been an issue.singlescrewshaker, MartinFromBC and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
-
It would have been, had you charged them twice for what you do it for now. Try and see, if you get the raise, I'll change my mind.
-
Why would I charge them twice ?
My rate has been the same for them since I got them. They are happy that, when they call, I answer and have trucks there.singlescrewshaker, D.Tibbitt, Cleduskenworth and 1 other person Thank this. -
That means you should have asked for more $
-
If the price is not an issue...why not charge more? The more money, the better, is the name of the game. It is hard to argue with that.
Whatever you charge now must play its due role in keeping you and your customer in equilibrium.RJM1953 Thanks this. -
Shipper customers are not broker customers. It’s a completely different relationship.
Longevity would be my guess.lynchy, singlescrewshaker, MartinFromBC and 2 others Thank this. -
I'm sure theres guys out here running $2 a mile freight thinking hey price is not an issue.
They are happy, when they call I answer and have my truck there.
Win win! -
Well yeah that would make sense being most brokers have sold their soul to the devil.
-
I’ve had shippers approach me to give me rates that are equal to spot rates, but won’t give me the rates they pay brokers. They are trying to save money so it’s a take it or leave it situation. I leave it.singlescrewshaker, RJM1953 and Kenworth6969 Thank this.
