I came across this on YouTube. 1976… if you can get past the First Lady talking it is interesting and seeing owner operator biiootching about the same things then as they do now.

Be interesting to see where they all are now. Reckon I have a fair idea but its not looking great.
Its a shame how a country relies on trucks to operate, and then has all the hate for them by players on so many levels.
Transport somehow needs to become like the Apple, Microsoft, Google of the world, a dominant entity required by a country to operate and market itself under the one name. Would have to have a united and standardised service that is disruptive, but has good supply, reliable, and support with no undercutting. The price is the price or don't buy the phone, computer, or software so to speak.
Don't think OO would be happy being a united employee, share holder, and boss all in one though. And all drive new trucks supporting modern best practices, plus come up with somethings that are a bit unique.
Kind of makes unions look like they missed the future buy a long shot though. Worried about their loose change rather than capturing the global market under the one banner for their members. Just something that passed my mind while watching the clip.
