Check his logs. Maybe he wouldn't have been there to get rear-ended if he hadn't gone off duty for five minutes waiting in the fuel line when he shouldn't have.TheLoadOut, D.Tibbitt, Coover and 3 others Thank this.

Sadly this is what some scum lawyer will try to argue. They'll look for any reason the truck shouldn't have been on the road and use that to argue their defense.RockinChair, drvrtech77, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this.

Ambulance chasers will find a way. I mean hell when a car can spin out cross the medien and slam into an oncoming truck sue and win....well im sure they can find a way to blame THIS on a driver.
Im still waiting for some moron who is drunk drigged and texting to go full dukes of hazard into a semi parked at a truckstop then sue and win.TheLoadOut and Coover Thank this. -
well see this truck's tire is under 110 psi.. the trailer has 2 non-functional marker lights and according to this driver's logs, they didn't properly do an on-duty pretrip. clearly this driver should've never been on the road.

Actually in the case you just made he shouldn't havedrvrtech77 and Numb Thank this.

The weigh station open signs mean nothing. The driver should have known the car was not expecting him to slow down and bypassed the scale lawyers argue. Jury agrees driver sentenced to death and the company charged $500 million dollars.
idriveaholden, D.Tibbitt and Tb0n3 Thank this. -
......and what was the very first sentence in the story the OP posted?
"semi truck vs. car"
No, it wasnt semi vs car...... It was car vs semi.
Any effort they can find to insinuate, by twisting words, to initially get your mind focused on the fact that its the truck drivers fault here.TheLoadOut, D.Tibbitt, REO6205 and 3 others Thank this. -

Wow
yeah
Be interesting to see the data dump from the cars computer to see how fast they were going and if they ever touched the brakes .drvrtech77, Coover, rch10007 and 1 other person Thank this.
