I completely want to stay away from mega carriers, they don't give a hoot about the drivers, they will give you home time when it's convenient for them not you, most the trucks only do 65, every payday is a big fight because they love to cheat you out of miles and money, I've been down this road before with mega carriers

Maybe I'm not looking in the right places for work but I check Craigslist and indeed all through the day, I've been unemployed for over 2 months with nothing positive in sight, I'm seriously considering about putting everything in storage right now and moving back to Texas because I know I can get a job there, the desperation is setting in

Ive never gotten a job because of a job posting somewhere. Go walk in the front door and sell yourself. Most places I've worked didnt know they needed someone until I walked in the door and sold myself.

Missouri area is a major cross section for trucking companies in the US. I used to run out of that area. JOPLIN. There’s always trucking jobs there. Even companies without headquarters in that area run through there frequently.

I think, the reality is you don’t want to work. You live in a metropolitan city of 500K people, at the crossroads of I-70/I-35/I-29/I-49/Hwy 69/Hwy 169, ~170mi from one of the most transportation dense areas in the country, and claim you can’t find work? Being an unemployed truck driver for 2mos is on YOU.

I packed my belongings into my pickup and trailer, leaving hurricane-ravaged Cape Coral, FL, behind. I’ve been living in motels, nearly 3wks. I spent about a week trying to decide where I was going to land. Once I did that, I applied for 6 jobs listed in the area. I got a response the next day from a company who is well-regarded on this forum for how they treat their drivers, benefit package, and paying nearly $100K/yr average. That gave me my next heading; their DC location. Once in town, I contacted their recruiter to update them. The next day, I got a call from another company. This one is little known to most, but, I knew of them from another industry. They have a dedicated, niche division that pays ~$93K/yr, for the contract they want me on. Zero cost health insurance, $8/wk dental & vision, 5 days PTO from day one, vacation, Kenworth T680, etc. I chose this second company. This week, I’ve been going through the required urine test, test drive, etc, for them and start orientation, next week.

I don’t even have a physical address and had a job in a couple days, in one of the crappiest areas in the country! And, here you are making excuses, with numerous opportunities right outside your door. Get over yourself and get to work, dude!

I don't know how you can say that honestly, you're comparing Trucking when it was good versus now, there's a huge difference just in the past year, ever heard the term here today gone tomorrow?, well that goes for jobs too and companies.... I lost my job 2 months ago because the company I worked for couldn't afford the fuel, truck payments, insurance, IFTA, RTS factoring was turning down 1 out of every 4 invoices, I mean it's one snowball effect after another.

I think in the reality you're just an idiot, I have a full-time job right now looking for work, I have searched high and low and everywhere, I don't need a scumbag like you to tell me I don't want to work, I would give anything to get back on the road... Go eat another cheeseburger you fat pig, you have no clue how hard I'm trying, it's easy to sit on your 300 lb ### and judge people isn't it
