Hey folks. Got a question for more experienced drivers where brutal honesty is required.
I'm a brand new driver with about four months under my belt. I'm pretty confident behind the wheel, confident enough to dock a trailer blindside in the dark. I average 450-600 miles a day, religiously pretrip inspects my load, all the habits are in place that are required of a good driver. Problem is, is that I'm not immune to rookie mistakes and had two preventable accidents and my company let me go.

    Well, now what?

If you have any suggestions about where to go for my next company that will take someone with two accidents (both minor), let me know, or let me know just how screwed I am.

What were the accidents.about. Scuffed a trailer or rolled your truck on an off ramp?

Does matter for anyone to help you out.

Also your location and type driving job you’re looking for.

If I had 2 preventables in the first 4 months and already fired, I sure would not brag about being pretty confident behind the wheel.

Perhaps he meant to say overconfident at times :)

You're not screwed. As @Hawkeye72 posted; where is your location?
    Nearest city/town.

As long as they aren't rollovers or jack knifes, someone will take a chance on you. It may not be the company that score the most points with all the TTR lads here, but the object is to find a job. Be prepared to take what you can get.

I am confident that he didn’t mean to say overconfident since overconfidence is a bad trait, and he’s certain that he’s a good driver. Right? Great, now I am losing confidence in OP.

But why would a confident person tell you that they are confident??? A serial killer never tells anyone that he’s a serial killer. Did Jack the Ripper boast?

Hmm, let me ponder over this…

Jack the Ripper left the women in discoverable locations. Yes, he was boasting. He was showing off his work and saying there is nothing anyone can do about it. The sociopathic narcissistic manner in his crimes means that he had to allow the public and police see what he was doing. The methodology and the types of women made certain the police knew it was one individual. The lack of covering up or hiding his crime is often how serial killers boast until they are caught. Though he never got caught, studies of serial killers that have been caught confirm this. I know you meant that as wit, but just thought a real perspective would be interesting.
