Do Owner Ops actually take loads that are less than $3.00/mi?

Then you would certainly take a $10.00 per mile load over a $5.00 per mile one. I’ll base my decision on which one gives me the best daily revenue.blairandgretchen, Oxbow and Siinman Thank this.

Totally make sense!

Ok...for example, 100 dollar per mile for 2 miles is not even close to worth it if its going to take 14 hours to complete that project... I quote rates based on the job and work involved... If its cross country load then obviously miles are involved in the quote but its not based on an amount of revenue per mile...more about how much time its going to take to do those miles... 500 miles in the rocky mountains is going to take more fuel , more time, more abuse on my truck... Why should i quote that the same as 500 miles of flatland? Same as 100 miles in any major city is not the same as 100 miles in bfe south Dakota. Why should they get the same rate?
Should i also quote the same 500 mile load that i have to sit on over the weekend, the same as I would if im running it during the week? Just because its the same amount of miles?Last edited: Oct 24, 2022

I got $1.72 out of there last time. Niagara in Groveland (great place to pick) to Bessemer, AL $862 for one day. Put me right on a great money load to WA.
Thing is, don’t wait until last minute to book something. -
$4,000 cross country, he won’t have enough for that nonsense
LoneRanger and Siinman Thank this. -
It's terrible right now.
$2 a mile loads flying off the board left and right, even from normally good areas.
I've parked it for the past week. I refuse to haul for rates this low.LoneRanger, Siinman, baha and 1 other person Thank this. -
