Ever see any of the trailers Hyndman had for going out west back in the day? They could level their floor. In the ‘80’s they used to put the boards in, wash them out, and put a load of van LTL on them to go west with.cke and pete781693 Thank this.

I've been kinda busy Pete.. I set a goal couple mths ago on avg loaded miles per week.. been trying to achive it seems I fall between 200 to 600 miles short everyweek plus had a minor set setback here about 10 days ago been fighting electrical gremlins had the trailer lights quit me at 3 am loaded on 2 lane south of Valintine Ne. was on the shoulder trying to get em lite and Boss Hog law dog rolls up..the tin star decides he's gonna give me a early morning check over..not only do I not have trailer lights but I find out the truck has invalid insurance.. so it was game over then
Short version.. I got @wore out & Doc to finish my load since their were fairly close
Things wen't from bad to worse when they come to bail my arse out though
Seems Doc has a thing for badges and peed on Boss Hog's shiny boot .. so Doc got locked up and @wore out 's pockets were only deep enough to bail 1 of us out and I wasn't his 1st choice I just made bail this morning cause as luck has it the Magistrate and the County Attorney went Mule deer hunting 1 day before Boss Hog meet up with me.. that was 12 days ago
I actualy considered calling @bzinger since he's from Ne. But decided it would be safer to sit in the Gray Bar hotel vs. him showing up with a budwiser in his hand and getting locked up too
I appreciate what @wore out did for me .. not many guys would go the extra mile to help like he & Doc did
But now I owe him fuel money to bounce all the way across Ne to rescue my load of feeder then come back for me plus Its only right I repay him the 380. for Doc's bail plus a box of beef jecky.
I also asked him to keep it on the down & low .. I was worry if there was a jury trail @Oxbow would be treated as a hostile wittness since he gave a Willie Shaw driver a beating and that won't help my caseIsafarmboy, cke, tramm01 and 7 others Thank this. -
Heard of one like that mentioned by a man in West Point, MS. Some way to lower a deck or raise a belly to get adaptable.
Like crescent wrenches, adaptable to all, fits none.
He could put out a good story on his pegging his just broke in good 500 Cummins in Glenwood Canyon. Limber enough, try it out.
Then the man appears going the other way etc etc rtc..pete781693 Thanks this. -
Now that is some bad luck.
Hopefully Doc was able to saturate Deputy Dog’s socks. @wore out is a friend indeed.
I guess your friend spent his insurance money on those 8” pipes and you paid the price. Under those circumstances,
I am sure @bzinger and @Oxbow could have maintained good behavior long enough to help you out of the situation. Sometimes you will. Be amazed at what friends will do to help out.
Glad you are alright.Last Call, Isafarmboy, cke and 4 others Thank this. -
Guys up here used to run from SW Onterrible out to Saskatchewan and Alberta empty to get critters. Animals pretty much only move one direction up here. Hyndman were the first I know of to figure out a way to load their trucks west without having to find something they could hand bomb on and off. They rigged their trailers like that in their own shop. Floor wouldn’t take a lift truck, had to tailgate the load with pallet-jacks, but it was a big improvement over fingerprinting it all, and opened the door to more loads. Gave them an advantage on that lane. Their company trucks and the O/O’s that didn’t mind hauling the LTL dry freight one way were making big money compared to a lot of the cow carriers.Isafarmboy, cke, pete781693 and 3 others Thank this.
