I enjoy living in a house, but I don't want a flatbed trailer loaded with lumber parked near me. :D

I want to see someone with authoritive sound to tell me that it would take a freakish coincidence of misfortunes for a gasoline tanker parked next to me, as I type this, to put me in harms way.
A hazmat driver would not smoke but what if someone next to him throws a cigarette butt out the window....? Is that something to think about?

    I've never seen a gasoline tanker do a layover/break in a truckstop.

I hate parking next to a human smuggling trailer. Can’t sleep with all the screaming and pounding.

In fact, since we're already meandering,
I would not stand a view of a truck when I am at home. I want the trucks disappear from my view entirely at the time when I home.

Does it sit in your mind that there are risks involved or are there even any risks at all?

    No.
If there was gonna be a problem it would have happened long before he parked next to you.

I don't doubt it as we run the same roads, deal with the same traffic and work under the same clock but if you check any hazmat companies safety scores I'd bet they are cleaner than what you think.
Therein lies the problem..the same standards apply to all equally but I understand the concern.

When I first signed on with this company I hauled some pretty ugly stuff (I’m talking death within seconds kind of stuff) then I transferred to carrying some benign stuff. If the truck has a name brand logo on the side then it should be fine. Otherwise…

I hauled fuel for 6 months. Good job but not for me. It's much safer hauling logs on a 17% goat trail during Winter. Pick your poision.
