I probably should. Even though it doesn't use any oil or coolant, and analysis looks good after 1,000,000 miles on the engine, and the truck is an absolute money maker, in the end it's an International. I'm going to ignore the fact that 99.99% of semi trucks are identical once you pull the cab off.
"That's a nice Pete you got there. What engine?"
"Cummins"
"Nice. Me too. Tranny?"
"Eaton."
"Same. That's a good one. What about drivers?"
"Meritor."
"Oh. That's what I'm running." -
That’s actually pretty impressive. I know a guy with a T600 and his cummins made it to 1.2 million miles. I
I personally know, or owned, of at LEAST 14 trucks with cummins isx year 2013-2018 and the highest mileage one only made it to 880k before the rod blew a hole through the block. All these trucks were well maintained and most had rods and mains done. I don’t trust an isx at all.
I actually love those internationals. The sleeper is spacious feeling and like the cubbies a lot up top.D.Tibbitt, singlescrewshaker, Rideandrepair and 5 others Thank this. -
Very true. I like it though easier to get parts since they are mostly the same. I like my Pete though for the same reason people like jeep wranglers. You can never tell how old it is without knowing little details. Could be 26 years old could be 5 who knows.Rideandrepair, Another Canadian driver, Keepforgettingmypassword and 1 other person Thank this.

Just being a smart ###. The best, most profitable truck I ever bought was a clapped out 2001 International 8100. I paid next to nothing for it, put a clutch and rear end in it and ran the heck out of it for over 3 years. It had a drippy Cummins m11 so I added oil as needed and rarely bothered changing it. Took it to 1.4 million and let someone else have the pleasure of owning it.

its rare to see Pete with meritor axles now...
