that may be true for those regions but it doesn't work for other regions where there is limited space or other issues.

However coal is still the best fuel for energy, it is clearly the winner right now. Oil is the second best, because without it, we can't have solar and wind power, everything to do with those two systems has to do with oil, no oil ---- no solar or wind power.

Yes algae and other means to produce oil are here but there are some things that need petroleum oil (out of the ground - Texas tea), many plastics and synthetic rubber has to have oil, the black stuff. sure there has been products that have been made by petroleum oil alternatives but can't be produced in mass, nor will ever be.

That’s funny all 7 of my electric bills just doubled in price per KWH in June.
Yes doubled in price. Got a letter from the electric company the day after the increased bills explaining all the reasons.

Full electric was fast out of the gate because we had the most experience with it and it was relatively easy. The real problems were ignored until it actually looked like it might get widespread adoption. Don't get me wrong, hydrogen isn't happening in a year or two; neither are widespread electric trucks, though there will be plenty if certain operations (ports, etc). I peg 10 years, or so, for hydrogen to become the emergent choice. In that time the price of hydrogen will come down but, just as importantly, the cost of diesel will continue to rise; due to both economic and regulatory costs. In the end, there won't be choice of internal combustion, or not.

Western Australia is vying to become the green hydrogen hub for Asia.

    What others are beating tesla?

it is like ford trying to build their junk to compete with tesla, sure they will sell cars and pickups but they are never going to lead in sales with what Tesla is doing and tesla/musk are open in what they are doing and how they are doing it.

ahh to true, wife and I took a Tesla for a test drive, then a Kia Kona. Both priced at 70K down here. Tesla was like Yeh I can see something different here. I can see the technology, feel it, so came across like you were getting something a bit different and special for the coin.

The Kia, just pulled the old donk out retailing for 30K, and put in an electric motor. Nothing to see here but an incredible new asking price.

Thought I'd be open also and suggest to Tesla, the deal breaker was no spare tyre. I don't live in the city so the wife waiting ? for their specialised technician to show up and change the tire is not going to happening. Run flats are not an option either as they are overpriced garbage. Recon a wagon for a family would be a good idea, and why is that big heat transferring glass roof not a solar panel. Not sure about you, but my car parks in the sun most days for work, most shopping, kids weekend sport, and day to day travels. It parts at night in a garage. Guess Elon didn't like the free speak as his company never replied.

Tesla truck will have a 250 mile range in the real world.
Tesla truck would be the best local delivery truck on earth.

For OTR we need the new cummins hydrogen engine. As well as a fuel network.
Thanks to emissions, diesel is dead as soon as there is a second option.
I look forward to a hydrogen engine in my truck.

Oh maaann Scoobertdoo, you sound like me in 2017. The first few seconds of Ridgeline's clip nowadays sums it up however.

Ridgeline, as a kid in school I thought mathematicians were so un-cool and who"d ever want be one. As an adult I say they are the coolest nerds going, and the world needs nerds more than ever, lots of them.

Guess Elon's mathematician suggests its possible unsurprisingly, mean while reality is somewhat different.
