Man I got caught in it too! I stopped at that Walmart in Alamosa. I didn't have the right screw to fix the pins on the trailer. I fixed just enough to slide the axles. I'm glad I did, because I need I need more weight on the drives. I ended up getting about ½way down the pass barefoot. Of course I was going 8 miles an hour. Lol If you haven't already, you'll pass a bunch of trucks that are empty or loaded light. The DOT has everyone stopped right now going down the hill. I think you can do it barefoot if you go slow as ####

Awww ####, I managed to get all the way down. It took about an hour to do like 25 miles. I'm in Walsenburg now. It really isn't bad if you're able to get by all the cluster. The closer you get to Walsenburg the roads are better plowed. They shut down the highway going westbound. You ought to see the long line of motorists right before the pass.

At this point if I get to Oakley or Wakeeny, I'll be cool with that. I got some A&W, and I've never been so happy to taste a root beer float

Yea i had to get out an chain the front axle too. Chain law in effect an they're requiring 4 tires chained. Problem was i did it on an incline in the snow so i couldn't get em tight enough. Already threw one off an put it back on. We should be moving before long again. Told dispatch i was up doing all this an will probably have to take a break in between driver's later. Robert said i don't care what ya need to do, just be safe. You guys will get here when ya can do so safely.

I was cold an wet from being out in the snow. Both of us were up all day. We had just switched drivers at monte vista so with all that going on on the pass i didn't get to bed right away. We didn't make walsenburg till 8PM last night. I just said to heck with it an we parked there. The Mrs wouldn't have made it anywhere else with truck parking. She normally shuts down by 10PM. I run nights an she runs days so she can stay on a set schedule with her diabetes stuff. So far it's working really well. She's been maintaining 120 for her sugar levels. So anyhow i took a 6 hr nap an rolled this morning. We just switched at salina so she can get some of her shift in today. We'll be headed back to phoenix for Monday at 14:30 after we get back to st louis.

Dang it man, i know you had to thaw out for real. Kudos to good health because the temp difference from there to Salina could have been crucial. Potatoes briefly was a load from hell. I'm taking a detour to the yard. I gotta airbag so leaky it's crazy. It takes so long to build up pressure and I figure if I go to a truck stop I'll lose way more time than to just add an extra 30 miles on this run to get it fixed and get back rolling.
