Once I realized it was bothering him, I got a little obnoxious with it.

Our dump has a separate paved area for clean yard waste ..
The dump in my town has 2 scales inbound & outbound..
My dump has cute chickadees working the scale windows..
Our dump don't smell half as bad as this dump..

Probably should of have just told him piss off, but seemed more fun this way.?

Was loading the kelly bars off of a drill rig before the 8axle got there. The dump guy was probably just mad cause he had to be out of his comfy office watching other people work.. Lol

I 100% agree with your take on this. I deal with severely psycho almost adults on a daily basis. Sounds to me like you kept a level head, and did what you had to do to DESCALATE and made it thru as safe as possible.
Great job.

 

He doesn't seem to be very enthusiastic about his first Halloween.

 

Do not worry about the "I would haves". Once you stated you could not get into your nightstand before he was on you, you did the best thing you could. You kept calm, did what he asked, got him away from you and your wife as soon as possible, and you both came out alive. I would have done the exact same if I couldn't get to my defense system. Get him away from my wife and dogs as fast as I could, and deal with the rest after. You dealt with it like a pro, and I am a combat vet. I have been trained in multiple scenarios. Keeping calm and thinking clearly is always the first step to getting home. God bless you both.

 

Unfortunately the second guessing will be part of it. The fact is, you both lived thru it and that means you did everything right. Period. I cant imagine what it was like and wouldnt even make like I can. I wish I was in your neck of the woods for a night or 2 to stand guard and let you both TRY to get a little rest. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both. And hopefully the maniac finds himself in the deepest darkest corner of hell.

Know one thing, Karma has a way of taking care of things. Sometimes it’s immediate, other times it’s slow, but very, very fine. It will come, that you can believe.

 

Hopefully quick, at least bring a bit of closure.
