I don’t know I’m not sure what iowa’s Look laws are regarding that…but being private property who knows.. oh I saw the DOT cop drive in to the loves this morning as I was fueling I don’t know if he followed that dump truck in or not because I didn’t see the dump truck until I went around and seen him parked… If the cop followed him in there that I assume that he could legally get away with that because he was just following him to a safe place

A local DOT from around home that’s now retired became a friend to me. He didn’t stop me often but was fair from day one. Caught me leaving Augusta AR at a little over a 100k gross with a load of corn. Stopped me on a wide shoulder at Morton AR. Said he could hear me staying in gear for a long time knew I was heavy. I told him let’s go to fuel stop at Bald Knob cuz .....I’m heavy for sure. You don’t need to be out here on this #### shoulder in traffic. Anyway that’s what we done. Lots had #### on radio to say about it. Wrote me a warning for over on axle give me a clean level 2 and sent me down the road. After he invited the radio lawyers to come join us and be educated. If they have initiated a stop and you pull onto private property your fair game. If your just parked on private property not causing any type of scene I guess you can say they are not suppose to roll up on you and do an inspection. Or that’s my understanding of it

 

Flipping off the cops is protect speech. A case made it all the way to the Supreme Court about that.

 

Hope he pulls thru and makes a full recovery
