What if it Snows?

Indeed a regional thing. Straight Timothy is usually pricey around here. Brome, Orchard Grass mixes with some Alfalfa are usually about the same as straight Alfalfa. We feed first and second cutting Alfalfa to horses as long as it is past bloom when cut. No third or forth though.

 

A Replacement Roof would cost that much nowadays

 

Founder/Laminitis is a bad deal, and some horses are much more susceptible than others.

If I recall correctly ours was around 10k when we were forced to have it done by the insurance company, and that was 3 years ago. Nothing fancy, just asphalt shingles.

 

Had never heard of Insurance Companies requiring certain Repairs or Upgrades, for Renewal purposes, until a couple years and now it's very common

There's no Discount involved with complying, only a Cancelation or Non-Renewal for not following their requests
