Utah State Patrol has a request

Il. State Police just posted something similar. This year there have been 25 ISP Patrol cars hit while sitting on the shoulder with warning light flashing.

 

Honestly this is one of the VERY few times i will say the governent either needs to slow everyone the #### down (if we get governers then so should 4 wheelers) Or make it so if you pass a trooper over say 30 mph its automaticly a massive ticket

Or you know make getting a license a hard expensive thing. There are to many #### idiots who drive aroind face in phone until they cream someone.

 

“Every state in the U.S. has some type of ‘Move Over Law,’ but still, there are too many motorists that are either unaware of the law or ignore it.

It’s not that they’re unaware or ignore it, they just don’t give a darn..it’s time to start issuing citations for 1st offense of fines starting at $500 and goes up $300 for each additional offense and add jail time and license revocation too for any injuries and/or fatalities making it a criminal offense too…then maybe folks would start getting the hint..
Make the jail time minimum 5yrs for killing someone on the shoulder, whether it be an emergency personnel or road crews or motorists broke down and have roadside service with them..

 

The last time most people ever think about driving is the day they took their driver test at age 16. They don't think about their habits and behavior when they narrowly avoid some massive crash , "if I wasn't such a good driver I wouldn't have been able to drive on the sidewalk without hitting anyone". "We were going to be safer drivers but then my husband got a raise at work so we just bought a more massive SUV so we don't have to drive safe anymore."

 

Driving is a background or maintenance task people do with the tiny part of the brain leftover from all of the other tasks they do. Think of it like a manicure. You don't spend weeks learning how to be a professional doing manicures. You clip a nail when they cause you a problem or on special occasions. You give it no thought before are after. Driving is just something all adults do and "we all know" is how they ignore any law or practice that is slightly inconvenient. "Losers with no appointments just driving around for no reason should stay right so us Special People in a hurry, with an appointment, saving the world with one spreadsheet or HR Memo at a time are allowed to live in the left lane."

 

same thing here in RI, 3 troopers got hit this month alone.

time to start installing MORE traffic cams and nailing those SOB's once and for all, up to license revoking.

 

I know of state was working on such a device that can control your car.

I think it was NY, they can remotely reduce max speeds on equipped vehicles and are testing it out.

 

the issue or problem i'd see with that, is sure, they can control a vehicle or 2 with that device, but what about that faster moving vehicle coming up on thier donkey.??
