The new Cascadias have a CB antenna built into the roof. Someone on here said it's in the windshield. That is not correct, it's in the roof. I've driven at least 5 different Cascadias back to 2014 and they all had the built in antenna. Freightliner says its for "aerodynamics." I had no idea two 48" whips the diameter of a nickel could disrupt the airflow around a moving garage door that much.

I wound up buying one, but haven't gotten around to buying everything I need to have it up and running yet. I'm about to change companies, so no sense in doing it just yet. But I am looking forward to it.

Spent quite a few nights rachet jawing with another driver, while trying to make my destination. And was glad for the conversation especially on a dark rainy night while fighting sleep.

But that was 30 years ago, now I roll the window down and crank up the stereo since it seems no one is out there to talk to….

I'll happily socialize, and it absolutely helps to talk if you are beginning to feel tired and can't find a place to shut down yet.

I use mine all the time. im a company guy in a Cascadia. The internal antenna paired with my cheap cobra works but im going to get a better system.

There is a lot of trash on the airwaves but there’s also some good stuff, and if it gets bad I turn it down or off.

Can you show me what the connectors look like to hook up the radio? I'm not having much luck getting the shop to get me the parts so I can hook mine up. It's a 2019 Cascadia if it makes any difference.

I'm also in a Cascadia, and have a brand new never used Cobra that I need to get hooked up and get an external PA speaker for at some point. But first, I need to get out of the hole. Week two without a paycheck. Learning curve to being a lease op again. Haven't done it in a few years. Need to review some things.

Finally got the CB hooked up! Is it sad that I actually missed hearing drivers squawking at one another?

Yeah, just got back from TX , and only heard a couple of drivers in 3000 or so miles, real quiet not like back in the 70's and 80's. In a way it was kind of nice..

I just picked up two 5000 watt antennas and a couple of mirror mounts a few hours ago. Still need the cable and to get it installed. Presently, my truck is acting as a very short range antenna, and my reception suuuuucks! I don't know a whole lot about cb radios admittedly, so I'm not sure if the two 5000 watters will double my distance potentially, or if it's a pointless overkill and I should take them back and get two 2500 watters. Thoughts?
