my dog has been on many on many military bases. they will probably ask you to take your dog out on a leash while they inspect your truck, carry current vaccination records for your dog its required that your dog be currently vaccinated they rarely ever ask but they might so your want to have that handy.

What is the deal on the vaccinated requirements? Just wondering since I do the bare min on shots with my pup. He has all his puppy and adult shots but I will not do the Rabies shot except for every 3 years, Some places want it to be every year or every other year. AKC recommends every three years as well.

Ya he is current on his shots. His rabies shot last 3 yrs but we keep that in our binder in the truck.

Them people get inside your cab.
And IIRC. Look inside your doors and drawers.

Good luck keeping your dog silent and invisible.

Not to derail this thread, but I'd just like to say you can NOT bring fire arms onto military bases anymore. I'd always been told you could just leave your gun at the guard gate and go get your load and the broker thought that was the case too. When I tried to pick up a load at a base and told them I had a pistol I needed to check with them they told me they could not take it and technically they should be arresting me for even approaching the gate with a gun as the sign a bit back had stated no firearms.

They let me go without issue, but I lost the load. Just wanted to point that out since the consensus on here and elsewhere has always been you can check your gun at the guard shack.

Call the commercial gates at whichever bases and ask. Some do let you bring a dog in and some don’t. Your more active bases might not but readiness centers and training bases are a little more relaxed with things.

Ya we already decided to leave firearm at home. Someone said since husband is a veteran to ask that way we not traveling to Cali without protection but they said even though he is a veteran it’s a no go. This will be the first week traveling without firearm, I guess we will feel kinda naked.

We called every gate we going to and all of them said that’s fine to bring a dog. One gate told us we will be their first dog bring but they are cool with it.
