I absolutely loved the Cascadia’s I drove for Ozark. I wouldn’t mind owning one but financially I can’t. Too invested in my paid for POS FLD. Plus I really really like paper logs. Not to make more money, but to go home when I’m ready or drive when I’m ready……not when the government tells me I am.

I used to be a rule follower but now if the rule doesn’t make sense I ain’t following it. I refuse to sit back and play goody two shoes while the rest of the world does whatever the eff they want. I’ll adjust as I see fit LOL.

Sorry for the rant. I’m a bit irritable this morning.

Oddly I don't even miss paper logs anymore. Such a pain catching them up when behind a few days. I did them on a laptop so a little faster but I know guys still wasting time scribbling lines on actual paper logs. The flexibility in the regs now is such that ELD's not a problem. The way I booked on paper I always had the time to legally run it anyways and it's nice to be somewhere that allows PC without a bunch of company policy red tape involved. Just don't use it to cheat and nothing ever gets said about using it.

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t balk at driving one. But I won’t buy one. I’ve known two guys that run newer Cascadias, one bought his new, and have few complaints. But both had/have issues getting the windshield and roof caps to seal properly. Not exactly instilling confidence in quality if you ask me, but hell any new trucks these days have issues too. My ‘22 389 had window switches go bad already.

Well I guess that's really just my back up plan in case I outlive my truck or it gets totaled , it's been very well cared for and sharp inside and out ...just turned a million million miles with 320k on a complete inframe so I guess time will tell.

DD15 ghg17 is the best engine today. All problems are solved but assembly quality and some part's quality sucks.

2017 and newer Detroits emissions systems are OK. So I was told a couple years ago, by an Engineer that works on emission R&D at Detroit.

I called the dealer yesterday and if I wanted an OO specd T680 with a Cummins it would be around $225K. And I'd take delivery sometime in Q1.

I knew things were out of control but thats the icing on the cake. 2023 used trucks are already hitting the market and these two seemed like good deals compared to what a new one would cost you. It's just a matter of time before the new prices will have to adjust

That second one, that’s a ton of wasted space getting a single bunk Ultraloft. You could put a basketball hoop in there. Lol.
