The problem with "Paddington" is he lives in Cleveland and is a Buckeye fan. That's two reasons there to be disgusted with life. :biggrin_25523:

    In the beginning....

You just do what has to be done to get the ONE year experience nailed down. THEN you find out that with all the trucking companies going tits up, there are MORE drivers than trucks now and the remaining companies want TWO years experience.

But, yeh, hang in there. Eventually you will have to have a diesel engine idleing and hooked up to the master bedroom just so you can go to sleep...

So true. And some people could live in luxury with an unlimited money supply and yet be very unhappy, find a way to blame society for their misery and convince themselves they have been dealt a bad hand in life and blame the world for it.

99% of us don't fit into either one of those extremes though.

Let's see, he was supposed to be out for 5 weeks but was home after 4. Trainer quit which messed things up. Blizzard happened, those happen. Not seeing the issue here. Personally I wouldn't work somewhere that would have me out for 5 weeks but it sounds like he went into it aware of that.

Been busy. Hauling gas. I usually eek out 12 hour days, Tues. - Sat. Sunday and Monday are fun day. Today I'm just bummin around watching the Olympics and the Daytona 500. Being back local again I got back on a bowling league. Just waiting for spring to get here so I can go back golfing again. Missed that while running OTR last summer.

Basically, I've been enjoying life! :biggrin_25525:

QUOTE=chief;1221815]some folks could be tossed into a porta potty and be surrounded with urine and feces, and yet somehow manage to make the best of it and eventually convince themselves how great of a situation they have, and that they actually enjoy it. some people try to convince you that back in the 1700s, some of the slaves were actually happy. OK.....[/QUOTE]

You know Chief.. The reverse is also true... There are those who can't be happy or satisfied no matter what... They will always see the weeds in the garden and ignore the flowers...

I am not an OTR trucker whose is just doing my time until I can get a local job... I am OTR because that is what I want.. I have been offered a couple local driving jobs, but, I don't want that...

I got on with a good local company right out of school, even though hey usually require 2 years experience... One reason I got on, was my attitude. One reason why my company treats me well and things are going good... my attitude...

I am making good money each week, especially for a rookie. I am also happy and enjoy what I am doing...

I do just think it is ridiculous that those of you who are so miserable and not making money don't move on to something better... and even more ridiculous that you try to put those who are making money and enjoy what they are doing down...

Why are you doing a job you dislike and aren't making money at?

I'm with Lavender, Trucking has been good to me. It put 4 girls thru college in addition to paying off a house , a car and a 4 wheel drive truck. A lot of college graduates dont have that kind of record. Oh yeah , I've missed 1 birthday party for my daughters in all that time. To this date thats 35 years of driving. Its like with areas of trucking, some can make it work and some cant
