Safety Tip Of The Week-Wildlife Awareness

I bet 100 bucks that same safety dept is gonna throw their driver under the bus for hitting a deer. Saying it was preventable

Yeah this reminds me of when I started hauling road trains, we were told by our trainer during one of the induction, orientation days with a training video, showing a pic of a driver at night time when a cow walked across the road and he swerved its a natural reaction and takes a lot of practice to actually hold your steering straight and not automatically react to the situation, although it is much easier to swerve with a single trailer however if your hauling 3 or four trailers behind you its usually the third and forth trailer that will fish tail, its ok to brake if you chose to use the trailer brakes only as it will pull you up backwards, never hit the maxi's. With roo's it was never an issue, they are much smaller than a deer, camel, cow, bull, horse, or pig. One just kept driving.

 

Maybe they thought saving the best tip for last was a good idea, but how many drivers are going to actually read the whole thing? I would put the most important one first. If you don't drive faster than you can see ahead of you, none of the other tips really matter.
