well I had to get where I was going - driving single, dispatched like team...LOL!! ... of course.

When I bought my little 'road commode' I went straight to a cummings mech and had it worked on... had to really watch it after that. I did just fine with it until late one night going down the road on I-70 lost in my stereo since there was no traffic - dry roads, nice weather and an OH state trooper decided to stop me.. only thing was I had no idea he was even behind me until I heard someone on the CB say 'hey, look at that cop chasing that ----- truck, still couldn't see him but knew it had to be me..wiggled my wagon a tiny bit and lo and behold .. there he was up under my bumper with his little blue lights in the grill just going ... blink blink blink.. I pulled over ... too late he was really ticked off and I went to jail, truck went to pound and dog went to jail with me! That was one expensive little trip! oh well... that was the good old days when stuff didn't get reported from one state to the other on your license, if ya got caught up in a check w/either no logbooks or too many, throw 'em out the window and swear you left it at the truck stop down the road...

I doubt I could drive this day and age, too many restrictions and too many crazies out there.

I can't find the original picture of my first truck:biggrin_2557:. This is what it looked like. I was working for a company in Southwest Atlanta that paints trucks & trailers. Being the first truck he purchased to start the company, The Owner refused to retire "His Baby". "Baby" a 70's GMC COA(366cid Gas Eng, 5+2 Speed, Hydraulic tractor brakes, Springs, & Arm Power Steering:biggrin_25523:) was used to deliver trailers and as a yard dog. Though I was in heaven when I started OTR & stepped into a Freightshaker from PST Vans:biggrin_25524:.

This 73 Mack was the first truck that I ever owned, I bought it new but really wanted a hood, so I bought the 73 Pete used. Don't know where the trucks or the years went.:biggrin_255:

Hey... small world... I got my OTR start with PST (out of the Hammond yard).

This was my second truck with PST:

I don't have a pic of the first one (also a COE but without the setback axle... an '81 I think)

This was my first truck I bought. I was 23 at the time. 1982 Freightliner, 400 Cummins, 13spd. Had a lot of good and bad times with her.

Thanks for the compliments, the mack was a west coast Mack built in Calif. hence the aluminum wheels, and bumper along with larger grill than the ones built in Allentown,Pa.

Hopefully this works, 1996 Mack CH600 that I drove when I was 19. I was handed the keys and told to be there at 3:30 am, what an eye opener to driving. That load looks good, but that's after a few years of practice:biggrin_25525:
