I wonder why in the Midwest gas is a good 1.50 to $2 per gallon cheaper then diesel. Then, in Ca they run the same?
I remember 25 yrs ago diesel was always cheaper then gas.
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

Diesel always was cheaper than gas, especially in the spring and summer months. But then they started exporting diesel and then say there is a shortage. SMH.Siinman, dwells40, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this.

I was going to try a share the comment of one of our fuel suppliers relating to this, but I do not know enough to speak intelligently about it. It had to do with proportions of byproduct when making gas versus diesel. Something along the lines of if you are making gas there is a certain portion of a barrel of crude that is not used in gas production that can be used in diesel, but when diesel is higher in demand they cannot also make gas out of the byproduct.........something like that. Anyway, the conclusion was that there is more to it than strictly manipulating prices, though I have no doubt that that is a substantial part of it.

In Ontario, Canada a few companies are offering to paying $1.27/Mile in Canadian funds (75% of the Usd) so basically $0.95 cpm. They're trying to tell me that I paid to much for my truck that's the going rate. What a joke!..fordconvert, Siinman, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this.

These people are crazy to think anyone would run at a rate like that- mine as well be a company driver and actually make enough to live on.
Basic math is hard for these people I guess. My truck gets 6miles/gal- fuel is $6/gal, so I find it extremely insulting to be offered 1.22/miSiinman, D.Tibbitt, NorthEastTrucker and 3 others Thank this. -
Must be getting bad out there. Got 6 applications from drivers today.

Diesel went higher than gas when it became low sulfur, more when it became ultra low.Supposedly due to higher refining costs.

Attention!! Attention!! Temporary thread hijack in progress. Question for current equipment buyers. What’s a fair market price for a typical 2 yr. old Stoughton Dry Van. I’m wondering what an Auction price would be. Very good condition. A couple extras, 2 tire carriers, and outside rub rail added. already at a cost of $1000. A friend of mine’s planning on taking it to auction. I’m considering buying it myself. Need to figure out a fair price for both of us. I don’t want him to take a loss for my benefit. Any info on a Fair market Auction price?

$2.50 and a half chewed piece of gum.

I know we're getting $27,000ish for 2012 fleet trailers, and I think we get them new for around $50k, so I would guess $42-46,000. -
Brand new are $60k now, so maybe $40k?Rideandrepair Thanks this.
