Are your pick up/delivery times frequently all over the place? I’ve only driven reefer for one company and my delivery times were at all hours of the late evening and early morning. I’m sifting through some possible companies and I’m not sure I can do the reefer thing again.
Also, am inspection every 60 days seems like a lot. How much time are you losing on that? Are they getting in your bunk and everything or just glancing at the truck to make sure stuff isn’t destroyed and you don’t have 6 dogs?RickAnniston, Lumper Humper, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this. -
They’re just glancing to make sure everything is still good. My dispatcher has been working with me cause I am on antidepressants and have to take them before I sleep. Most of my pick ups and deliveries have been in the day every now and again I’ll have a late night delivery. I’m sure they’ll be able to work with you.Lumper Humper, Professor No-Name, bryan21384 and 1 other person Thank this.

To answer your other question they had the inspection done in a jiff so I didn’t lose any time. Though that was my first oneLumper Humper, Professor No-Name and bryan21384 Thank this.

Thank you for that! I was running reefer with highly inconsistent times. I did a lot of sitting and having to swing my clock and it just wasn’t working for me. Even on dry I had some later appointments from time to time or it was a D/H and I was getting in at night, but it was still manageable and allowed for at least some what of a routine.
And I don’t blame them for an inspection. Especially if people were violating their trust and tearing their trucks up. I just don’t like people in my personal space. But if it’s just a quick “okay truck is clean” then I don’t mind. I’ve just also had those preventative maintenance trips where it becomes a whole day ordeal bleeding into the next day and I’m not about that every 60 days lol.Lumper Humper, Lonesome, Professor No-Name and 2 others Thank this. -
Sounds like you are running SE regional routes so far? Do they go out west? Done SE regional. Got sick of sitting in traffic
Lumper Humper, Professor No-Name and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Most of their freight for solos is in the south east. They do have runs out to Texas and Oklahoma and occasionally Colorado for solos. Most of the time it’s the teams going out west to California and suchRickAnniston, Lumper Humper, Professor No-Name and 2 others Thank this.

I work at a different company. The same one the op used to be at. Typically our dispatch tries to get us through our yard at least once a month for inspection. But that i would think is typical of most companies in order to stay on top of maintenance issues. It's just a quick swing thru a shop bay where they look truck an trailer over for any issues. An you can report any issues you have then an get it in to get fixed.Lumper Humper, bryan21384 and mdmgolfin Thank this.
