My point was just that if he needed hometime in florida that they would think he lived in AL and get him loads going there when it was time for hometime. That was all i was saying in case he had not thought of that.:biggrin_25525:

Who's to know where you permanently reside? If you know someone that lives in the state you desire to claim as your address and will let you use his address just change your license over and have your Hustler subscription sent there. Okay, being a wiseacre on that one, but if your proffessional credentials and organizational memberships magazine subscriptions etc come to a certain address, who's to say otherwise? I'm kinda in the same boat myself (only within one state though) but only to make life a little easier...

When I moved from CA to CO in late 1979, I had lost my wallet (along with all my ID). I applied for a replacement driver's license and told them I was in the process of moving to Colorado. They asked for my Colorado address, and when I got my license, it was a California license with a Colorado residence address............go figure.

Post #3 is not correct. Perhaps in that state, but not in every state.
My license always has had a P.O. Box address........And considering that I just renewed it, it still seems OK.......

Well where is your current address ? That's the one that should be on your driver's license .
Where are you going to school in MA , NETT ? Have you read all the posts of their graduates in MA that can't get hired anywhere ?

Thanks Rick. I have no current address at the moment. Hopefully I'll find an apartment in the next day or so here in MA. I could use that for my CDL. Or I could use my brothers address in NH. I don't plan on staying here anyway. Thus the dilemma. I plan on getting my experience OTR and "home" time is not an issue with me. Home is where i hang my hat!
I have read some info on NETTS but not all. Are you saying they can't get hired because of the school or because they live in MA? If it's the latter, that's one of the issues that bugs me. Other than the home time thing, if I'm running the 48, what difference does it make where I live?
As for the other schools I'm looking at, there's Allied Career and Parkers. I'll be calling them all on Mon. I'd also consider the Company schools and going out of state, but that gets back to the question at hand. What state do I get licensed in?

If you have a family member or friend with an address in AL. then use that adress to get your CDL in AL. It may not be completly legal but only you have to know.
